MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to all my friends and family. Your support this year has meant the world to me, THANK YOU! May you be blessed as you have been such a blessing to me!

The insert from our Christmas letter.

Merry Christmas,

I hope this letter finds everyone happy and well. 2012 was a blessed and yet very difficult year for our family. We are joyful that our trials have brought us closer to God and to each other.

At the end of January we walked the indescribable difficult path of saying goodbye to our sixth child Jonathan Anthony Papik. He was born 1-24-12 and we were blessed to spend many hours holding and loving him. Even though his life was short he is a special little boy that taught us many lessons. We talk of him every day in our home and he is so loved. I was not prepared for the difficult time of grieving that would follow his death and spent a good part of this year very sad. I do not believe that time heals all wounds, some are far to deep. However I DO believe Jesus heals all wounds and he is healing this mommy's broken heart.

I have found a lot of comfort in the community of mommies that have lost babies. The greatest blessing of Jonathan's life has been that my eyes were opened to a suffering that many families have experienced through the sadness of an early goodbye. We recently attended a candle lighting for Jonathan, lots of families came together to share pictures and honor their babies. As I sat in the audience and listened to the quotes that the mommies spoke one scripture kept replaying in my heart.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted ~Matthew 5:4
Jesus has been so good and faithful to carry us through.

Big Jimmy had a very productive year in business. He received his Plumbing Contractor license in March. He also started a new plumbing company called, Sunset West Plumbing. I am so proud of him, he has a vision for our future and he works hard to obtain it. He still loves surfing and won first place, in his heat at a local contest. He continues to Pastor at the Venice Lighthouse church. We love the opportunity to serve God and people in this way. Jimmy is diligent to pray, write sermons and preach. He has a heart that loves people and is committed to pointing them to Christ.

Little Jimmy is in 9th grade this year. I can't believe I have a son in High school! We continue to home school but we have the blessing of being a part of a charter school that keeps all his credits and checks his work. Jimmy loves to surf and has spent many hours this year in the ocean and is competing in local contests. He recently got hired as an interne at the Venice Arts were he has taken film classes for many years. He loves to take pictures and make short movies and now he will get paid to do it! He is a BIG help to me and such a blessing.

Jesse is in 5th grade and loving it. He consumes books at a fierce rate and is wonderful at writing papers. He excels at skate boarding, dropping into 12 feet bowls doing crazy tricks. He also takes a film class and comic class. He loves to draw and can spend hours working on a picture, his attention to detail is incredible. Jesse also surfs and competes. He is a sweet big brother and loves to help with Joseph and Shayla.

Jadon is still my fun loving, active boy. He is in 2nd grade this year. His favorite subject is PE. (smile) Daddy is such a help and takes the boys to surf or skate many times a week. Jadon loves to surf and skate and did his first contest this year. He also loves to draw and play with his big brothers. Every now and then he has been caught playing with Shayla also :) He makes life happy with his silly mischief.

Shayla is a sweet little girl that loves all her brothers so much. She has enjoyed taking ballet this year. She loves playing babies and house and brings so much softness to our house full of boys.

Joseph is an active almost 2 year old. He loves dancing and making us laugh. He has a contagious joy that makes life so sweet.

I pray this next year all of you will be blessed. Whether the future holds mountains or valleys Jesus Christ is the Lord of both!

I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. ~2 Samuel 1:26

Our family Beach photo shoot.

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Luck 2:9-12
