A Wonderful Week in Tucson

We had a really wonderful time in Tucson. We arrived Friday and let the kids play in the pool. Saturday morning we did our grocery shopping for the week, then headed to the pool for the day. That night we took the whole family to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.

Sunday we blessed daddy by doing what he loves... exploring! We explored Tucson, first going to an old Catholic mission that is the longest running Catholic Church in American history. The boys attended an open air service and I played with the little kids in the mild 106 degree temperatures:).

Next we headed to the pool to cool off and have some fun!

That night we took daddy to a cowboy town for mesquite grilled steak and a funny wild west show after. We ended the perfect day with showering daddy with cards and love!

The rest of the week is a blur of sermons food and FUN. Every morning we heard 3 sermons by amazing preachers, then we headed to the pool to play. After a short afternoon nap we went to another nightly sermon and dinner.
Jadon learned to jump into the deep end and swim to the sallow end. THANKS Charlie!:)

I was very blessed by so many of the messages. God refreshed me and revived me, as he is always faithful to do when we set aside this time for him. We are pumped and excited to take our renewed vision and energy to our city to reach them for Jesus!

I did end up getting sick after our ride home and have spent two days in bed with an upset tummy. It has been a blessing though, giving me time to pray, read and reflect on the messages.

It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your
 faithfulness at night

A Whole Lot of Packing Going On

We are getting ready for our Bible Conference. I almost have everyone packed and ready, just a few odds and ends to finish. Although my to do list still seems long and only one day left. I am so thrilled to get away and hear lots of preaching. Since I do Children's Church most Sundays, I don't get to hear a lot of sermons.

Shayla recently got flowers from her daddy. She LOVVVVVED them! Everyday she tell someone how daddy got her flowers and she thanks him many times a day. She tells me she has the best daddy in the world. I know we are going to have some tears when I explain they can not stay in her room forever:)

I just have to say how much I adore this little boy! He is so sweet and funny. Two can be a trying age, but my goodness he is so stinkin cute!:) He is really starting to talk and listing to him cracks me up. Oh, and thank the good Lord he is finally staying in his big boy bed!

Better Than A Hallelujah

The silence when the words wont come.....

Lately I have been silent about my emotions because I really don't know what to say. I am sometimes a mess. I give into worry, I cry, I get angry, I question, I fear.....honestly most of the anxieties in my heart I do not want to admit to or record. So silence.

My heart and mind are often on Jonathan. I look at his little face in the frame on my nightstand. I remember. I will never forget my baby boy. I have carried his little brother longer now than I carried him. When I think of him and our new son I sometimes feel confused and sad. Many questions swirl in my head and heart. All the while there is a protective prayer on my lips and sheltering hand on my belly.

Jesus must of known what I would need now...her name is Shayla. It seems the questions of a four year old many times parallel my own. Often in answering her, God answers me. Oh and the sweetness of her, that she knows her mommy's heart and how I love for her to talk of Jonathan. When our prayers are said she often whispers these words..... Goodnight Jonathan, Goodnight Papa, Goodnight Jesus.

I am having a hard time expressing my feeling to anyone. The silence is all around me, except in my heart, except to Jesus. I tell him all my troubles, the truth.

I am so thankful that the honest cry of my breaking heart is beautiful to him.

I Cry aloud to the LORD; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble. When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way
~Psalm 142: 1-3

Better Than A Hallelujah
By Amy Grant

God loves a lullaby
In a mother's tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

God loves the drunkard's cry
The soldier's plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

The woman holding on for life
The dying man giving up the fight
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes

The tears of shame for what's been done
The silence when the words won't come
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

Better than a church bell ringing
Better than a choir singing out, singing out

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

So worth watching.

Jesse Celabrated

Every year we are at our church's annual Bible Conference during Jesse's birthday. This year, he specifically requested that we celebrated before. So we spent Friday and Saturday celebrating our sweet Jesse.

Friday night we took Jesse on a Mommy, Daddy dinner date to a nice steak restaurant. Our older boys love these one on one birthday dates. It was also our 16th wedding anniversary.

Next we went to Mam's for cake and presents. It was most definitely the saddest looking cake I had ever made. I was in a hurry but it was homemade with love and tasted good:)
I had a serious sour tummy and Jimmy enjoyed teasing me.

Saturday morning we headed to Van's world famous skate park The boys had a blast and we ended up going to another outdoor skate park as well.

We ended the perfect day with dinner at Chick-Fil-A, a family favorite! We do not get to often because there are none close by us so it was a real treat.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children
