Surfing Fun in Santa Cruz

So we brought four boards with us on the trip. The boys were looking forward to surfing some famous spots however we got a curve ball, or in surfing terms ...skunked. That means no waves, it has been totally flat. However that did not stop us from having some serious fun exploring, researching and sight seeing the local famous spots. California surfing actually started in Santa Cruz by three Hawaiian Princes.(I learned that at the surfing museum:)
The surfing museum in the background.
Famous surf spot steamers lane....pretty flat.
These were the rules of surfing posted by Steamers Lane. Along with lots of RIP's from the people that had drowned.
The good thing about flat surf is it has us planing another trip to see the winter BIG waves!

Sorry about the low surf but happy you could find other things to do. Love all the pictures. Remember to get yourself in some of them!!!

I went to Santa Cruz when I was in my very late teen years. I loved it soooo much that I dreamt of moving there one day. It is a beautiful place!! Enjoy!
